Kings Place Hall Two
For ten years, The Shout sang, caught trains, boarded planes, taught, rehearsed, climbed ladders, scaffolding and scissor lifts, laughed, worked, fought over what to wear, ate lamb shanks, stood on roofs with megaphones, bickered over who had the right rhythm, created chords of bewildering complexity and broke as many stuffy choral rules as they could think of. Just lately, they have been dusting off a few of their favourite numbers.

Matthew Coombes stumbled into The Shout by accident while looking for an evening class on ethnic rug weaving. Since then, he’s split his time between global brand marketing, singing and nerdy computer programming. In a former life, he was a choral scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford, and toured extensively with the Helen Chadwick group.
Martin George enjoys a varied career as an actor, singer and musician. He was in local rock bands in Essex as a precocious teenager, before moving into repertory theatre and ultimately, the West End. Favourite roles include: Frank’n Furter, Jesus, Judas, Tommy, and Joseph – any troubled deviant with a Messiah complex, basically!
Jonathan Glew is an actor/musician and composer who has, over the past thirteen years forged an eclectic career for himself across numerous creative disciplines. More info can be found at: jonathanglew.com.
Adey Grummet is a soprano who attempts to defy classification. She is also a writer, animateur, vocal consultant, historian and gardener with a dark past in musicals and bands. She has created numerous roles in contemporary operas for major British composers. She is unnervingly open to suggestions.
Kaytie Harding is mum to Tabitha and Miriam (and dogs Eric and Sookie) and she sings sometimes too. She came in to The Shout as a dep in 1999 and is still here. It makes her very happy. www.voicefromthecoalshed.co.uk
Mike Henry is a composer, baritone and multi-‐instrumentalist, and Theatrical Music Director at the National, Almeida and Young Vic. Singing experiences include: Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, George Michael, Diana Ross, Chrissy Hynde, Billy Bragg, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison, Pet Shop Boys, Beach Boys, Lisa Stansfield, Flying Pickets, Buddy Curtess, Glyndebourne, Royal Opera House, ENO, Ensemble Modern.
Hazel Holder is currently studying for an MA in Voice Studies at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. Theatre: Medea, Death and The King’s Horseman (National), The Tempest (RSC), Dart’s Love (Tête à Tête), Zero (Clod Ensemble), Dalston Songs (Helen Chadwick), The Sleeping Beauty (Young Vic & Broadway). Voice Coach: RADA, Guildhall, ALRA, Tiata Fahodzi.
Louise Sofield has travelled all over the world performing different genres of music. She has worked in theatre, film and television and – having studied jazz at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama – has performed with many bands including her own, as a jazz singer. Louise recorded her own album Things in life, which has been featured on jazz fm.
Jonathan Williams trained at Cambridge University and the Royal Academy of Music. Theatre (as Music Director) includes: Shoes (Peacock/Sadler’s Wells), A Christmas Carol (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Ingerland (Linbury, ROH), Awaking Beauty (Stephen Joseph Theatre), Six Pictures of Lee Miller (Chichester). Jonathan also works regularly for the education departments of the Royal Opera House and Wigmore Hall.
