Her face was of flowers
A woman made of flowers for a man cursed by his mother.
An axe, a spear, and a sword of Avalon.
A story of death and transformation, retold – from HER perspective.
She didn’t choose her husband. He was brutal and coarse. She preferred another, quieter, gentler. He came to her at night. But they couldn’t fight Gwydion’s sorcery.
Her Face was of Flowers unites a lyrical contemporary score with the soundscape of Welsh legend, recreated from hundreds of sound recordings. This is the second production by Sonopera®, presenting new opera with integrated sound design.
