The Cockpit
Music: Béla Bartók, Jakob Huuge, Arvo Pärt
Words: Béla Balázs, Neale Donald Walsch, Joseph S. Benner
A one woman show based on Bluebeard’s Castle by Béla Bartók. A work in progress project, which explores the theme Opera as a Ceremony and Healing process, inspired by the healing aspect of the ancient Greek theatre.
The stage is treated like a temple and the Parthenon becomes the Bluebeard’s Castle. Bluebeard becomes the voice of the Creator, leading Judith to her Liberation; the Liberation of the Female Principle which has been trapped under the shackles of Patriarchy for centuries. Balance between female and male principles on the planet is the message, how can we achieve inner peace, which will resonate as Peace to the World?
After the Pandemic, we all need a healing aspect in our lives. This is a calling to Remember Who we are.
May the message of Love and Peace that this show carries travel to the hearts of the audience and awaken.
Come to experience a Communion of rituals through all senses.
The show is dedicated to the 22 year old Iranian Mahsa Amini, who was killed because she let her hair free and to all those women throughout the history of humanity who are searching for their voice. To every soul that seeks to be heard.
Age Rating: All ages, but mostly adults.
