Music: Laurence Panter
Words: Christopher Faulkner
A woman is drowned on the eve of her wedding. A violin-maker has found something strange. The groom is fraught with more than the usual anxiety. In this darkly humorous re-imagining of a Northumbrian murder ballad, secrets will out, revenge will be had and cake will probably be eaten. Set to a lyrical score for chamber ensemble and peppered with English folk melodies, this is a show which will amuse, lure and challenge.
