Tête à Tête is delighted to release the findings of its Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival 10th anniversary report with Nouvague, which saw over 200 artists participate in the exercise, including artists from the first festival.
Since its inception in 2007, Tête à Tête has hosted over 400 new shows, delivered more than 1,000 performances, and seen over 75,000 people attend one of their productions.
Some key highlights from the report:
– A clear commitment to inclusivity and openness, with almost a 50:50 split between male and female producers, as well as commissions from transgender composers too.
– BAME artists well represented, with 22% of composers in 2015 coming from minority backgrounds.
– 99% of our artists said they are now working full-time in the arts today, including 8% in management, marketing and administration roles
– 90% of artists said they had a better understanding of how to put on a production in future
