Tête à Tête wins UK Creative Arts Award

We are delighted to announce that this January we were awarded a UK Creative Arts Leading Light Award – The LLA Online Award 2015, for our work on Tête à Tête: The Operas Online! The Operas Online is the world’s largest video archive of 21st century new opera, and includes over 400 operas we have produced or hosted at Tête à Tête: The Opera Festival.

Here below we have included some fun facts for you about our online archive!

 

1) In 10 years, over 40,000 people have enjoyed 358 performances, including the world premiere staging of over 400 new works.

 

2) Samuel Bordoli’s skate-park opera GRIND was commissioned as part of the 2014 Glasgow UNESCO Commonwealth Games; the production was shortlisted for the 2015 British Composer Awards

 

3) Our live stream of ”Crime & Punishment’ with the Royal College of Music reached over 3,500 people all around the world

 

4) There are now over 400 videos in our archive of new operas. Yes, 400!

 

5) Our operas have been watched by audiences in Azerbaijan, Uruguay, Indonesia & Iceland!

 

6) We are currently building a new home for our audience to enjoy our online operas, alongside commissions from our friends around the world – coming to you soon in 2017! Exciting!
