If you work in the creative industries, you have a chance to shape working standards for years ahead.
The Creative Industries Independent Standards Authority (CIISA) is currently consulting on a new set of standards. These are meant to provide universal minimum standards of behaviour across the UK’s creative industries to enable safe and inclusive environments. For example, preventing and tackling bullying and harassment, or dealing with discrimination.
At the moment, it’s been developed by organisations and special interest groups across film and television, music, and theatre. This consultation is a chance for more freelancers, the backbone of the UK’s creative sector, to have a say.
Freelancers Make Theatre Work (FMTW) has published a useful piece of guidance about the consultation. Right now, though, we’d encourage all arts freelancers to take a look at the consultation, and contribute if they can.
