‘Tell me. Tell me exactly what you think about me. Which part of me do you like? Do you like my neck? Or elbow?’
One opera singer, one actor, an evening of drinking, debauchery, and deception.
A failed opera singer, Emily lives a lonely but lush life as a housewife. A visit from her old friend Emma offers an escape from her isolation. But as the two drink and dance into the night, Emma gradually reveals the dark side of Emily’s immaculate existence.
Writer Moon Kim and composer Ábel MGE join forces in their second collaboration ‘Emma or Emily’ — a new hybrid opera-play exploring the fractured mind of an artist. Creator of ★★★★★ hits ‘The Waiting Room’ and ‘The Arms’, Moon Kim’s dark surrealist dreamscapes explore the psyche through vivid imagery and movement, while Ábel’s interactive, fully electronic score, brings her characters to life.
