Tête à Tête is proud to be in Opera America’s Digital Opera Catalogue

Monday, 17th November 2025

Opera America has just published the first edition of their Digital Opera Catalogue, and we’re delighted to have hundreds of productions both produced and hosted by Tête à Tête in the catalogue.

This promises to be an invaluable resource for producers looking for the next show to stage, especially in the USA’s well-established ecosystem for contemporary opera. We hope that this will lead to even more Tête à Tête survivors having their work performed across the pond.

Artistic Director of Tête à Tête, Bill Bankes-Jones, said: “Opera America has long felt like a great ally for Tête à Tête. Its promotion of new work over decades has been absoutely enviable, driving the worldwide domination of new American opera. It’s therefore such a privilege to send many hundreds of pieces in the opposite direction. With the USA’s enviable record in giving further life to original works after their premiere performances, we very much hope this may happen to some of the fantastic work it has been our privilege to host here in the UK. Indeed, exactly this just happened with a revival of  our patron and Master of the King’s Music Errollyn Wallen’s Anon, performed by Welsh National Opera in our 2014 Festival and revived just this October in San Francisco.
