The Cockpit
Music: Hans Vercauteren
Words: Charles Sobry & Hans Vercauteren (after Laurence Binyon’s “Arthur, a Tragedy'” and the old-Flemish “Ferguut”)
“Did it have to be me?”
ARTHUR is a new piece of music theatre on the final hours of King Arthur.
Merlin returns and visits Arthur in his battlefield tent, the evening before the final (and fatal) battle.
Both a serious and funny little show about an old man at the zenith of his greatness, reliving childhood lessons with Merlin, swordfighting and drinking his final mead!
A look into the humanity of a once powerful ruler.
Charles Sobry plays Arthur, Bartel Jespers plays Merlyn and soprano Rosalind Dobson sings as the Lady of the Lake. Violinist Maja Horvat underscores this show as a musical Guinevere.
Age Rating: All ages, but mostly adults.
