An opera for the Reddit generation. Built on found texts including fragments of Sappho, quotations by the late American Feminist and Academic Andrea Dworkin, and the unedited comment threads appearing on pornographic subreddits, Baby Girl, told through an array of different women’s voices, each of whom has played a part in shaping the overall narrative, is an unflinching look into masculine toxicity and how online pornography – the embodiment of the essential sexuality of male power – incubates and nurtures misogyny through its language and imagery.

Age range: 18+, explicit language and themes

Produced by Paul Evernden

Venue: hopefully* The Cockpit, Gateforth Street, London NW8 8EH.
