This event is a part of Cubitt Sessions Digital Stage for 2020.
Produced by Crewdson and Cevanne.
‘WHAT’LL WE DO’ is a dance and music collaboration between award-winning composer Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, electronic instrument-builder Hugh Crewdson Jones, and first soloist of the Birmingham Royal Ballet, Kit Holder. Created in lockdown, WHAT’LL WE DO is a new work song for a time when many of us cannot work. While the lyrics and choreography express dismemberment, their gestures trigger effects on a new motion-sensitive instrument, the Light Dome. Underneath it all is a drone made of recordings of domestic machines that accompany indoor life.
