The Cockpit
Music: Keir Cooper (from improvisations by) Eleanor Westbrook
Words: Rose Biggin & Keir Cooper
Three performers, trapped in the far future of 2028, try to do what they can in a world where performance has become automated. How can they survive in these accelerating times? In this witty ‘impossible opera’ for projection screen and a trio of live actors, the literature of Anna and Fyodor Dostoyevsky might provide the clue.
Based on new music for modified guitar and soprano voice STAR QUALITY revisits the 400-year battle between music and words. Bringing influences from live art, rock and jazz, this is an exciting hybrid work combining innovation with mischief.
