There will be a live performance of The Manicurist on the 22nd September as part of Rendezvous with Revenge.

“Rendezvous with Revenge” is a triple bill exploring subjects of revenge, betrayal and love with equal parts comedy and stylised drama. The three shows represent diverse musical styles, but have in common a musical language that embraces the nuance achieved with a chamber opera format.

Each show consists of just three singers and piano. Originally written as part of the Royal Academy of Music Opera Makers project, The Manicurist was created as part of an evening of electrifying music and theatre.

The Manicurist: Marie spends pleasant days working in the nail salon she owns. She is interrupted by two clients hot on each other’s heels – both want the same appointment, and both are over excited about the new man in their lives. They initially clash over their mani-pedis, but gradually a deeper conflict between them is revealed.
